The Ventana: The World's Only Internal Rattling Dropshot Weight
Getting the Most From Your Dropshot Rig
During a stingy bite at an FLW California Delta event, the dropshot and the Ventana produce a coveted largemouth bass. The pro division was won utilizing the dropshot technique.

In all of my countless
Co-Angler and Triple-A bass tournaments across the United States, if I had only
one technique setup, the dropshot, my results would be the same, arguably
better. As I reflect on these events, the dropshot has produced consistently from
the back deck, venue after venue. By far, my preferred dropshot weight is the
exclusive rattling Ventana by Team Davies.
Deriving its name from the
Spanish word for window, Ventana is a window.
The Ventana is the world's
only dropshot weight with an internal rattle chamber. The rattle adds another
level of incentive for largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass anywhere on the
planet. The chamber with the exterior window amplifies the sound transmission.
When you shake the Ventana, it produces a unique clicking vibration that draws
bass in, making your presentation more noticeable.
The Ventana Line Up
These superior weights
feature rotating clips, making it easy to attach them to your line. The Ventana comes in a range of sizes, starting at 1/8 ounce and increasing in 1/16-ounce increments to 1/2 ounce. The tear-drop shape makes presenting the Ventana
in and around heavy cover and structure easy.
Each Ventana has its size
stamped on the weight, giving you quick and clear identification. 1/8-ounce
weight; on one side, above the window chamber, a number 1 is embossed. On the
opposite side, a number 8 indicates it's a 1/8-ounce weight. Regardless of how
you store your out-of-the-package Ventanas, identifying the weight is simple,
helping you stay confident in your setup.
The Ventana works in all
water conditions. However, at fishing venues like the California Delta, with
stained water and crawdads as prime forage, the Ventana shines. Distinguish
yourself from other anglers. Clear or stained water, the Ventana provides a different
sound, making it easier for Big Bass to locate your presentation.

The dropshot is a proven
tournament-winning technique for front-deck pro anglers, too. Big fish will
take a dropshot presentation as well. My personal best dropshot catch is a
nine-pound largemouth. If someone tells you the dropshot only catches small fish
or that you can't win with the dropshot, they don't know what they're talking
about.

If you're not fishing with
Ventanas, your dropshot game isn't complete!
