South LA Chapter's Annual Fundraising Event at the Prestigious Compton Hunting and Fishing Club 10/11/25

What do you call a community gathering of passionate conservation-minded
anglers, their families and friends, featuring incredible auction and raffle
prizes, engaging speakers, with mouthwatering all-you-can-eat Hawaiian-style
food, refreshing beverages, and plenty of fun? The answer is the 2025 CCA South
LA Hawaiian BBQ!
An Idyllic Southern California Setting
On a classic, beautiful October day in Southern California,
the revered Compton Hunting and Fishing Club provided the perfect venue for a
remarkable gathering.
Welcome Address by Chapter President Robby Gant
Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) California South LA
President Robby Gant began the event with a heartfelt welcome, setting a
positive and engaging tone for the festivities. In his opening remarks, Gant
highlighted the significance of the gathering, emphasizing the shared mission
and aspirations of the community present.
He reiterated that the Coastal Conservation Association
California was founded with a clear and impactful purpose: to conserve,
promote, and enhance public access to coastal resources. This mission aims to
ensure that both current and future generations can enjoy and benefit from the
state's valuable coastal environments, including recreational angling.
Time to Dine, a Hawaiian BBQ Feast
Guests were treated to a mouthwatering Hawaiian BBQ spread that captured the vibrant flavors and warm spirit of the islands. The buffet-style
presentation allowed guests to build their own plates, sample each dish, and
return for seconds, thirds, or more!
An Afternoon of Excitement with Auctioneer Myles Blatt
The Live Auction was truly spectacular, thanks to the
exuberant energy of auctioneer Myles Blatt, the CCA South LA Vice President. His
charismatic presence and engaging style kept the audience on the edge of their
seats from start to finish. With each item presented, Blatt skillfully built
anticipation and excitement, encouraging lively participation and competitive
bidding throughout the event.
A Showcase of Generosity and
Enthusiasm
In addition to the Live Auction, this fundraising event
featured an exciting Silent Auction, a Target Raffle, a Premium Raffle, and a Square Board Raffle. Our generous sponsors contributed an impressive array of high-end
donations, including rare and unique items that immediately captured everyone’s
attention. These exclusive offerings heightened the incentives and created an
exciting atmosphere.

The Compton Hunting and Fishing Club is a beautiful and
dynamic venue that truly has something for everyone. Whether you are coming
with family, friends, or even your beloved dogs, this multi-purpose site

significance of the CCA to him personally and for Calstar, emphasizing the
