Michael
Hoffman: Wildlife and Landscape Artist, Illustrator
Exploring the Mesmerizing Award-Winning Aquatic Fine Art of Michael Hoffman.
By Derrek Stewart 2/29/16, updated 11/22/25
I came across one of
Michael Hoffman’s art pieces, which was the image above titled “Out of the Shadows.” I was immediately pulled into its depiction. Seeing the Bluegill on the line with the artificial
bait hanging from its mouth and the
Largemouth Bass moving in to take advantage of the situation reminded me of so
many similar scenarios. I had to
investigate further.
“Hunting Pack”
Explore is exactly
what took place, and what I discovered was a catalog of fantastic artistry.
Michael Hoffman not only captures these aquatic worlds, but, as I investigate
them, they transcend the geographic scene featured.
"Miss Chevy 2" – Rybovich hull #1 on the Indian River
circa 1949.
It could be Sailfish working a bait ball, a cabin cruiser
leaving the dock at sunrise, or a shark prowling a coral reef; the theme of the
subject matter takes place in any body of water, fresh or salt, across the
globe, and I wanted to dive right into them.
