Clear Safety
Glasses Are One of the Most Important Pieces of Equipment Anglers Need
By Derrek Stewart 9/10/19 updated 7/19/26
When the sun is bright, anglers always wear polarized
sunglasses. That’s a good thing; we need to protect our eyes from harsh light
conditions. They also improve our vision when looking into the water. But
there’s another benefit to our sunglasses. They’re a safety lens, and we
shouldn’t ‘lose sight’ of that when the sun goes down.
Equipped with safety glasses, Piru Night's Team Partners, Harwood and Stewart (author), are prepared to flip and pitch heavy bullet weights in Piru's flooded trees.
Don’t learn why the hard way. Without a shield, the hook or
weight, flying straight back at you, might be the last thing you see!
High Impact Safety Glasses; available at any hardware store.
$10, pick up a pair for yourself and your buddy. Sometimes the little things
are a big deal.
Clear safety glasses are standard must-have equipment in the Author's night fishing gear.
Why don’t most fishing sunglass companies offer a clear-lens
sport model?
