Lake Perris from 20,000 Feet

Lake Perris Reservoir from 20,000 Feet by Derrek Stewart 5/24/24

As I embark on yet another journey from Los Angeles International Airport, I find myself gazing down at this Southern California Reservoir. This State Recreation Area, nestled between Moreno Valley and Perris City in Riverside County, is a beloved fishing spot.

Spotted Bass, Bluegill, Rainbow Trout, Channel Catfish, and Largemouth Bass thrive in these waters, eagerly awaiting the challenge of anglers. Lake Perris, a haven for freshwater bass anglers, is not just a popular fishing spot, but a battleground for bass tournaments. Many seasoned bass anglers have proclaimed Lake Perris as their most cherished local fishing spot, a testament to the thrill and excitement it offers.

Just a short distance north of Diamond Valley Lake https://dstewartfishing.com/diamond-valley-lake-from-20-000-feet/, Lake Perris marks the southern end of the California State Water Project. The picturesque Alessandro Island stands proudly in the heart of the lake.
