A Desert Story - Lake Mohave

By Derrek Stewart 5/9/24

Fishing adventures take anglers to the heart of nature, where its awe-inspiring beauty is everywhere, from the shimmering water to the majestic mountains.

Driving through the canyon walls downriver from Willow Beach, we spot movement on the ridgeline above us.

Turning the big motor off we idle with the electric trolling motor into the mouth of a cove.

A male Bighorn Sheep and his harem of Ewes grace us with their presence on one side of the canyon. It's a sight that only nature can provide, a moment of pure wilderness amidst our fishing adventure.

A proud large Ram stood on the opposite side of the canyon, engaged in one of nature's most iconic stare-downs. A fight is coming soon.

Meanwhile, we're back to angling for smallmouth bass and more wild things. The thrill of the chase, the anticipation of the catch, fishing is an exhilarating adventure!

You see the most fantastic things when you're fishing. Share the joy, take someone fishing and create unforgettable memories!

We made a quick fishing session at Lake Mohave on our way home from a team tournament at Lake Mead, Nevada. I'm with team partner Troy Lindner, the Traveling Angler.
